Illinois: The most Anti-Life state in the Midwest

Did you know: The state of Illinois is the most anti-life state in the Midwest?

According to the report “State of Choice” put out by “Personal PAC” - Illinois’ abortion provider political action committee - the states surrounding Illinois have reasonable regulations on abortion.  Illinois has almost no limits on abortion - instead, our fair state is the “Wild West” of the Midwest.

That 2-page PDF report is one of the saddest things I’ve read in a while.

I found the following quote interesting under the heading ‘Prohibits Stem Cell Research’
“The anti-abortion movement has made a top political priority of preventing stem cell research in as many states as possible. They do so in order to establish as law that life begins at conception and any use of post conception material be treated as murder and a felony. Antiabortion opposition to stem cell research, like opposition to abortion, is based solely on extremely narrow religious dogma and not science or rational public policy.”

How unsurprising that the author fails to make any distinction between adult and embryonic stem cell research. And how sad that the author claims that science has not determined that life begins at conception. That is an indisputable scientific fact. The only debate is what rights and protections we’re willing to give that life.
