STOP Illinois FOCA -- Coalition To Defeat HB6205

We can defeat this bill—if we pull together!

Grassroots in actionThis morning I did a radio interview with Paul Clayton of KFUO, 850 AM in St Louis, with many listeners over the over the Mississippi River in downstate Illinois. After I had explained how bad HB2354 is and informed listeners what they can do to fight it, Paul asked me point-blank: “Can we defeat this bill?”

My answer was that, yes, we absolutely can defeat HB2354.

We have the grassroots, the “ground troops,” to get the job done. Planned Parenthood, Personal PAC, the ACLU and the other powerful supporters of this bill have lots of money, but they don’t have tens of thousands of Illinois citizens eager to go to work for their cause. We do.

It’s easy to get discouraged when you look at the weight that our enemies can throw around—not to mention the friendly attitude they can expect from the press and their willingness to twist the truth. Part of their strategy is to weaken our resolve—and that of our legislators—by appearing invincible.

But they’re not invincible. Far from it. So don’t be discouraged. When you call your State Rep down in Springfield, when you sign the petition against HB2354 you’re one of tens of thousands of other Illinoisans doing the same. Planned Parenthood can count on only a tiny fraction of that kind of grassroots mobilization.

I am helping to run signatures at 2 churches!
I can’t control the outcome, but I can do everything I have to fight for the least among us!!
This is from Fr. James Manjackel M.S.F.S. His message from Our Lord.
“You must know that My authority over you is greater than any authority in the world; there would not have been any authority in this world if I have not given it to them, and they have a greater responsibility not to misuse or abuse the authority bestowed upon them. If they go against my design and lead people wrongly, they will carry greater guilt before Me than anyone else.”

I agree that this bill can be stopped, if we all pitch in and do everything we can individually to oppose it. It’s the contacts with legislators that perhaps mean the most - call, write, and email often, and sign the petition - let them know that everyone is watching and we care. Vote “No” on HB2354!
