Apparently the response you got is Jackobsson’s standard reply on this issue. Two quick things:

As for sex ed, it really comes down to what you think is age-appropriate. Planned Parenthood’s idea of what’s age-appropriate is very different from what most parents would think.

As for parental notification, she’s dodging the question. HB6205 has contradictory language. One line says that it doesn’t affect parental notification, but another says that the act should be construed liberally to disallow any abortion restrictions. That’s a contradiction, and that’s why we’re concerned the goal is to “pave the way” for gutting parental notification.

Also, I think it’s rather disingenuous of Jakobsson to say she’ll “keep your thoughts in mind” when she’s actually a co-sponsor of the bill.

If you contact her again, point out that HB6205 would require taxpayers to fund abortion. Not only is this offensive to the majority of Illinois taxpayers, but it’s outrageously irresponsible given the state’s current fiscal crisis.

She promises a NO vote on this bill.

One other thing. Many Americans are waking up to our lies. Please realize that we are gaining strength and will fight each of you. You offices will be taken over by candidates that will have the American peoples views in heart. They will care what we think and will LISTEN. Unlike Pelosi and Reid.Please take the time and learn what we the Americans whom voted you all in are saying. So far Obama doesn’t care and neither do many of you of you left wing liberal creeps. I would have never used such a bad term to describe any of you but, to date I can think of nothing better to describe all of you and your one sided evil thoughts. To whom this may concern. I had been a live long Democrat and lately have been very upset with the way the Democrats have been running our country. The lies that Obama has said in his campaign and the lies his entire administration continue to administer to the American people is a complete joke. Each of you have lost the American peoples faith in every aspect of running our nation. I am of color and have no prejudice towards his so called color. I would not care if this man is purple. The color is NOT the factor. It is the lies. We as Americans see Obama as a puppet with his strings being pulled by planned parenthood, the unions and especially George Soros. We by the hundreds of thousands have come to distrust all of you. Democrats along with many Republicans. You are all selling us out to your interests. The American have with no doubt rallied together to fight the lies and injustice that the Obama administration has brought to the American people. Wake up Congress and the House of Rep.s. We the American people are NO dumb as you believe we are. Stop blaming Bush, this is now Obama’e Administration running and destroying this nation. And your idea of using Reconciliation to vote this evil Bill into law is the most unheard of act this nation has bestowed upon the American people. This all about power. NOT, the welfare of this great nation.I am only one of millions whom are against this act. Indeed, we need reform of health care. Yet, you Democrats came up with such evil measures BEHIND closed doors, then after excluding the Republicans Pelosi and her so called cronies decide to make a mockery out of the system and invite the Republicans only AFTER the over 2000 page bill is complete ob national TV. What a joke that you did nothing to show the SAME respect when drafting this enormous bill with many back street pay offs. Why are you so called Catholics think that your soul is safe from the evil that you have imposed for every man, women and child in this great nation.This Health care Bill is all about POWER.Not the welfare of the people. Today I sent out 14 FAX’s and an email to those on the committee that listed email addresses. I received this reply from the Chairman, Ms. Jakobbson, that tries to say that some of the info on HB 6205 was incorrect. I’m quoting her:
Dear Kate,

Thank you for contacting me with your thoughts and concerns regarding the Reproductive Health and Access Act (HB 6205).

To clarify some points that you made, please be assured that Act will require all Illinois public schools to teach medically accurate, age appropriate, comprehensive sexual health education. Parents would have the ability to remove their children from classes if they do not want them to participate. Also, this Act does not make any changes to the Parental Notification of Abortion Act of 1995 as you have said.

I will keep your thoughts in mind if this bill comes to a vote.

Please also remind your reps that women are dying from pregnancy-related violence, coerced unwanted abortions and homicide – the #1 killer of pregnant women.

Ask them if they’re aware of new evidence: Most abortions are unwanted or coerced, which does not reflect “choice.” Or “freedom.”

Many – here in America – are forced into unwanted abortions. (See Forced Abortion in America report for examples and facts.)

Even the UN recognizes coerced abortion as a human rights abuse.

Coercion can escalate. Homicide is the #1 killer of pregnant women. FOCA is misnamed when unwanted, coerced or forced abortion prevails and women endure pregnancy-discrimination, abuse, forced abortion and post-abortion higher rates of grief, trauma and death.

This is a human rights abuse and risk to both women and their children. It should not be tolerated in a free country, especially in the name of “freedom,” “choice,” or public subsidy that endangers mothers.

Please Stop Illinois FOCA! As a taxpayer, Illinois resident, and mother, I am very much offended by:
* HB6205 which will create a huge expansion of taxpayer funding for abortion in Illinois
* HB6205 which will force Illinois school children into “condom training” sex-ed from pre-school
* HB6205 which will make it more difficult for women to seek justice after a botched abortion
* HB6205 which will pave the way for the gutting of the Parental Notice Act of 1995, which a strong bi-partisan majority of Illinoisans support.

Please STOP FOCA in Illinois! Thank you.

I also suggest telling voters about the recently released study that indicates that most blue states are in red ink Budgets compared to red states budgets. Illinois has a per-capita debt of 1877 and unfunded pensions of $17,230 A Moody rating of A1 only ahead of California. Since it is these same committee Democrats that are part of the states financial problems that have had businesses eliminating jobs. Unemployed people still vote.
